Odyssey Corporate Finance Celebrates 3 Years!

Odyssey Corporate Finance are pleased to announce its third birthday and another year of consistent growth. The independent firm of corporate financiers was founded in October 2008 by Mike Yiannis and private investors, in the same week as the global financial crisis hit the markets.
Yet despite the most challenging market conditions, over the last three years Odyssey have completed seventeen lead advisory transactions with deal sizes of up to £100m, across various sectors including renewables, automotive, manufacturing, leisure and professional services. The deals have included MBOs, corporate M&A, sales, fundraises and restructures.
Odyssey have also invested in six businesses with its partners, including an SME financing company Legion Trade Finance and a Middle East venture, Legion Qatar. In addition to taking equity, Odyssey are building a large retained client base where it acts as adviser or non-executive director, working with entrepreneurs and their business on a wide range of strategic and financial matters.

Mike Yiannis, Managing Director of Odyssey, comments "there is no denying the last three years have been the most difficult in our industry. So it is particularly pleasing we have developed our business, completed a number of deals and building a solid retained client base".

"The markets are clearly still very fragile and there is a long way to go in the recovery. But we continue to work hard and currently have more deals on than at any time in our respective careers, so we hope to have another good year. Our Birmingham based team has expanded to 5 with more joining soon given the increasing work load."
